Early warning signals
Imagine being notified about a vendor outage before it’s even posted on their status page. With StatusGator’s Early Warning Signals, you can detect cloud service disruptions early through proactive monitoring.
Get ahead of potential issues before your service provider officially acknowledges them!
How it works
Early warning signals are currently available via email and Slack. Other integrations (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, Discord) are not yet supported.
What you’ll receive:
The email includes:
- A subject line “Early Warning: Possible [Service Name] outage.”
- A summary of the detected issue.
- Links to the official status page (if available) and your StatusGator dashboard.
- Ability to help other teams by letting us know if you experience the same issue.
The Slack message includes:
- A subject line “Possible [Service Name] outage.”
- A summary of the detected issue.
- Link to the official status page (if available).
- Ability to upvote the message if you experience the same issue.
Feature availability
- This feature is automatically enabled for all monitors.
- If it’s disabled for any of your monitors and you want to enable it, follow these steps:
Enable Early Warning Signals for specific monitors
- Open the Monitors page, click the three dots next to the desired monitor, and select Configure.
- On the next page, go to the Notifications tab.
- Check the box labeled Early Warning Signals and click Save.
Disable or enable Early Warning Signals for all monitors
- To disable or enable this feature for all monitors at once, navigate to your Board settings.
- Uncheck (or check) the Early Warning Signals box to update your preference.
