Connecting StatusGator to Microsoft Teams using Workflows
Microsoft Teams integration update
Microsoft has deprecated Connectors and is transitioning to a new method called Workflows for sending messages from external tools like StatusGator.
Connectors will soon be phased out completely by Microsoft.
To ensure uninterrupted service, you should use Workflows when integrating Microsoft Teams with StatusGator.
How to set up Microsoft Teams with workflows
Step 1: Open your Microsoft Teams channel
Navigate to the Teams channel where you want to receive alerts. Click the three-dot menu next to the channel name and select Workflows.
Step 2: Search for a webhook template
In the Workflows panel, type "webhook" into the search bar. Select the template titled “Send webhook alerts to a channel”.
Step 3: Name the workflow and connect your Teams account
Enter a name like “StatusGator” and ensure your Microsoft Teams account is connected under Connections. Then click Next.
Step 4: Choose your team and channel
Select the correct Microsoft Teams team and channel for your webhook to post updates. Then click Add workflow.
Step 5: Copy the webhook URL
Once the workflow is created, Microsoft will display a POST URL. Copy this URL — it will be used in StatusGator.
Step 6: Set up the integration in StatusGator
Go to the Integrations page in your StatusGator board.
Click Add next to Microsoft Teams.
Paste the webhook URL you copied in step 5.
Click Save.
You can use the Test integration button to verify that everything is working.
Using the older Connector method?
We strongly recommend switching to Workflows as Connectors are deprecated and may stop working at any time. However, if you’re still using Connectors and need instructions – view the legacy Microsoft Teams Connector setup guide
